Formerly known as the High Lakes Youth Leadership program, the Lead UC Youth program is connected with the Lead UC program for adults. It is sponsored by the Union County Development Association, with support from the Creston Community School District and the East Union Community School District and from private investors.
The Mission of the program is to empower teens to become confident leaders through various acts of service by increasing awareness and involvement in creating a safer, cleaner, more enjoying community.
The application period for the Class of 2019 is now open.

As a community, we have several youth-serving programs that build leadership skills, such as FFA, 4-H, EAST, YACC, and FBLA. Programs such as these have dual purposes. For example FFA builds leadership skills through the focus of agricultural education and YACC focuses on educating students in the areas of philanthropy.
The sole purpose of the Lead UC Youth Program is to concentrate solely on leadership and the 21st Century Leadership Skills.
