Personal Testimonials

“I used to be shy and quiet and didn’t show many leadership skills, but after just the first High Lakes meeting, I felt like everyone else; becoming and developing into leaders together. I felt like I wasn’t going through it alone. I never knew how to become a leader until I went to these meetings and put what they said into action.” – M. Norton

“Overall, I was extremely happy with the program. I feel like I have developed multiple skills that I will use throughout my entire lifetime. This program has definately changed the way I lead throughout the community.” – Z. Hoffman

“The High Lakes Youth Leadership Program was a great way to open my eyes. The group got me involved and introduced me to new people. I made many new friends and had fun doing it.” – C. Anderson

How is this program different?

As a community, we have several youth-serving programs that build leadership skills, such as FFA, 4-H, EAST, YACC, and FBLA. Programs such as these have dual purposes. For example FFA builds leadership skills through the focus of agricultural education and YACC focuses on educating students in the areas of philanthropy.

The sole purpose of the Lead UC Youth Program is to concentrate solely on leadership and the 21st Century Leadership Skills.
